Poem-Term 4 Week 1

 

We were looking at personification for our poem this week.

Poem -i swim all day

 Today we read a poem and answered some questions. I got 10/10.

Life Education

This week we did some learning with Harold in the life education caravan. We learnt about feelings zone one and how to stay in the green zone.

Concrete and Abstract Nouns

We have learnt about the difference between

concrete and abstract nouns.

Collective Nouns

We created a DLO to explain what collective nouns are.

We found some interesting ones.

Sentences Examples

Today we remembered the different sentences types and wrote some examples. 

Light and Sound Expeniment

This afternoon LS 1 and Room 5 went to the reserve and did an experiment We needed to put our hands up when we heard the clapper. We made a long line beside the water. Mrs Kirkpatrick was at one end. When she clapped the sound traveled down the line. People put their hands up in a wave.

We saw the clapper before we heard the sound because light travels faster than sound.

ReadTheory Progress

This graph shows my progress using Read Theory.

Next term I need to look in the dictionary and 

look for the key words and if I forget the word I have to go 

back to the dictionary and re-read carefully.

Grammar - Good or Well

We made a D.L.O. to show when we use good and when we use well.

My Opinion

This week we needed to decide in our thinking  group if we should or shouldn't  

have prize giving. We decided we should have prize giving.

Adding Tens and Ones

We played a P.V game, then we watched a video, then we completed the DLO.

Here is my is or are blogger. It is about my favourite food.

Here is my pastel art. We made the instrument cold, swirly colours, and the background hot, spiky colours.

Poem - Hear

I  HEAR

When I think of my house 

I hear

 My baby sister crying.

My brothers arguing.

 Talking while me and my brothers are running around like a bunch of giants running down the hallway.

 People munching as fast they could.

  Children crashing into each other and shouting.

 Little kids saying moo like a bunch of cows outside.

 And there just outside the sliding door, as if it had never ceased to be
but only needed listening to
my brothers playing in the backyard.

Adjective

This week we learnt about comparative and superlative adjective we made this DLO to show you an example.

Twinkle twinkle on the Xylophone

As part of our unit on sound we learnt to play this song on the xylophone. We played it at our on-line assembly.
